  The Town Builders
Spotlighting 1838-1878's farmers, stock raisers and buyers who were actively campaigning the Muscatine Western Railroad to lay tracks near their farms, prior to the platting of the town. Public is invited. No admission. Refreshments following programs.

  Community Easter Egg Hunt
Parents are invited to bring their children 10 and under  to the village for an old fashioned Easter Egg Hunt on the Village grounds. No charge. All kids must be accompanied by an adult.

  Iowa Made Quilt Exhibit
Featuring handmade quilts designed by University of Iowa professor, Dr. Jeanette Throckmorton, this exhibit will highlight local Kalona Signature quilts made by ss well in the English Gallery. Adm: $6 adults / $2 11 and under

  Iowa Illinois Quilt Study Group
Topic: Tree of Life Quilts with Guest Lecturer,  Valerie Bonk.
$30 admission includes luncheon and admission to KHV galleries. Afternoon show and share includes any type of botanical quilts and new projects or acquisitions. Public is invited to attend with advance reservation.

Over 200 contemporary and antique quilts attract collectors from across the midwest with top quality textiles, many of which are Amish or Mennonite made. $6.00 Admission

  WMT Eastern Iowa Tractorcade
Grab your lawn chair and settle back to enjoy the late model and antique tractors as they pass by. Parade starts in Washington,  breakfasts in Keota, passes through Wellman, stops at the Historical Village in Kalona for luncheon before traveling through Riverside and back to Washington in the afternoon. Public welcome for the meal. Menu and Fee to be announced

  Historical Village Tea
Enjoy an old fashioned afternoon tea in the heart of the Historical Village welcome center, surrounded by beautiful quilts and antique displays. Topic will be Forbes Silver with guest lecturer, Betty Bekker Forbes of Lone Tree. $15 admission supports Village projects.

  August - November   Cheddar Yellow Exhibit
Featuring quilts that are made with the distinctive cheddar yellow color fabrics of the 1860- 1880s, This exhibit is sure to brighten your day. In the English (non-Amish) gallery, with a few examples in the Amish Gallery, the show is open Mon-Fri. Don't miss this amazing display of historical color, which cooresponds with the IIQSG Meeting topic below. Adm: $6 adults, $2 students

  Iowa Illinois Quilt Study Workshop
Friday afternoon's workshop is led by Carol Butzke, who will discuss, Toiles and Quilts in Women's Lives. Workshop is $35. Participants and early arrivals for the saturday meeting are also invited to eat dinner at the Village. Mennonite Meal $16.

  Iowa Illinois Quilt Study Group
Saturday's meeting begins with guest lecturer, Carol Butzke, who will speak on the topic of Cheddar Yellow Quilts. The morning session involves a historical accounting of this unique color. $30 admission includes the study session, noon luncheon, admission to the KHV quilt galleries, and afternoon show and share. Attendees are invited to bring their own examples of cheddar yellow, as well as new projects or acquisitions for sharing. Folks are also reminded to bring something for the silent auction, which is the groups fundraiser for programming and projects.

Enjoy a exhibition of Ms. Moss' unique art, often the events includes the opportunity to meet and greet the artist at Friday dinner. Moss has many works of art that feature Iowa locations and its Amish inhabitants.
